What Is the vessel?
“2 Rough” is a 5.2m Aluminium plate boat with a tiller steer 100HP Honda four stroke outboard. Built with deep sides and extra wide gunnels, this is a very stable and strong vessel built for the Weipa waters.
Built to survey with level floatation this vessel is in both 2C & 4D for commercial survey works as well as hire an drive.
How Many PAX
“2 Rough” can hold a maximum of 5 people.
How much fuel and what range can the vessel get?
“2 Rough” takes unleaded fuel and can hold a maximum of 60lts in three separate 20lt fuel caddies. Caddies are swapped throughout the day as required. With onboard fuel the vessel has a comfortable range of 60-80km (weather and weight dependant).
Pick up / Drop off?
Stand hire – it is the responsibility of the hirer to pickup and drop off from our address. Pick up from 7am and drop off before 6pm unless otherwise arranged before hire.
Vessel Limits
Vessel boundaries will be discussed in the hire briefing though simple overview is albatross bay (Dyfken point to Thudd point) for blue water limits and set boundaries of each major river system accessed from Weipa limits. At no point is the vessel to leave Weipa limits (eg be towed or driven to Mapoon. Additional costs and cleaning fees will be associated.)
The Fishing
The main target species through out our water waters are saltwater barramundi, King salmon, fingermark, gunter and a range of estuary species in the rivers surrounding Weipa while pushing out the front into the blue water will see you fishing for Tusk fish, finger mark, coral trout, cobia, trevally and a range of other reef species.
